Prosperity Families Johnsen: New Beginnings

I recently started the prosperity challenge. I will change character views of who is telling the story. We will start off with my first family, the Johnsens.

James Johnsen: popularity sim, lifetime want is to become mayor, aquaries, 5,4,4,6,6, turned on by blonds and make-up, turned off by facial hair.

Elizabeth (Beth) Johnsen: Capricorn, 6,5,2,66.

History: James and Beth have been living with Beth's grandparents. James didn't like it so decided to try life in Prosperity Hills. Beth's mom Sara had died a year before. They had both been devestated but are starting to get over it.

From James' point of view, three days: Ever since Sara died I have been looking for a new life for me and little Beth. I think I might have found it here in Prosperity Hills.

Our house isn't much but it soon will be. I hate making Beth live on the lawn but I didn't have much choice. We had already been living with her grandparents for a year so I figured it was time to start over our lives. I do miss Sara and I know Beth does but we will get over it.
As soon as we move in Beth began to paint. She has always loved painting and so far I think she is intersted in becoming an artist. You know how it is as a kid though, tomorrow she will probably want to be an astronaut or something.
Meanwhile, I got a job. It hurt me to see Beth living on the lawn, although she said she doesn't mind. I don't believe her. I really was looking for the political career so when I found it I was very exited. Unfortunately I had a couple days before work started.
Time seemed to creep by when Beth was at school. I found myself quite bored. (note from queenofsimtopia: when James got his job he had 3 days off! I was quite ticked and found myself getting a little bored too.)
Then I got an idea. I would write a novel! It couldn't be too hard... Boy was I wrong! You have to put a lot of work into it. I haven't finished yet, and probably won't for a LONG time.
I was so glad when Elizabeth came home from school each day. I could tell she wanted to paint, but she put up with me.
Beth seemed to notice that I was lonely and would often give me kisses. She is such a perfect daughter! And very smart.
She is quite a quick learner and was soon getting amazing grades in school. She must have inherited that from her mother... I wish I could get her into Private School, but I am not much of a cook and I just don't think we have enough money on hand.
One day a beautiful girl walked by. Her name was Marissa. I have always been attracted to blondes. My first wife, Sara was a blond. I didn't know what to think. I had tried dating after Sara died but most women don't like the fact that I am poor and come with a little girl. I decided not to tell Marissa. That was probably not a good idea. But Elizabeth was at school so I figured that Marissa didn't need to know just yet.
I had a great time with Marissa. She was a lot of fun. Marissa ended up staying over longer than I expected, but Beth came home from school and just painted and did her homework before duitifully going to bed. I felt so guilty. I couldn't have a relationship with a women that I couldn't introduce to Beth. We would just be friends. Marissa wanted to be more. I finally told her.

"Well of course you have a daughter, I saw her come home didn't I?" was what Marissa said when I told her.

"Well.. yah I guess. That doesn't bug you??" I was stunned, she had known the whole time!

"Of course it doesn't bug me!" Marissa replied. And then I kissed her.
